Transgender Egypt is a website dedicated to support transsexuals in Egypt and the Middle-East. Our main goal is to provide people with useful and relevant information and resources, debunk misinformation, spread awareness, and keep everyone up-to-date with latest related news.

This site uses the terms Transgender and Transsexual interchangeably, even though some other groups of people who are not Transsexual refer to themselves as Transgender (Cross-Dressers, Transvestites, Bi-Gender, Third Gender, etc..) However, this site is strictly for support of Transsexual people ONLY.

In case you’re wondering what Transsexual or Transsexuality means, a Transsexual person is one who is born in a body which they feel is the opposite of their true gender. In other words, a Male-to-Female (MtF) transsexual (Transwoman) is someone who feels like a girl born in a boy’s body, and a Female-to-Male (FtM) transsexual (Transman) is someone who feels like a boy born in a girl’s body. This is the simplest way to explain this, althought some transsexuals may dislike that explanation or feel it’s inaccurate or inadequate.

People who are transsexual usually suffer from childhood with something called GID (Gender Identity Disorder), and thusly are also called “Gender Dysphoric“. A Gender Dysphoric person is someone who has been assigned one gender, usually on the basis of their sex at birth, but identifies as belonging to another gender, and feels significant discomfort or the inability to deal with this condition.
